Empowering Communities to #ComeTogether
Miss Lilly’s Angel Trust empowers communities to be
resilient and resourceful in case of natural disasters or otherwise
through training, education, and communication.
Miss Lilly’s Angel Trust established on Tuesday 22 November 2016 as a direct result of the community relief effort in response to the North Canterbury earthquakes on Monday 14 November 2016.

The relief effort took place the week of November 14th. More than 2000 volunteers supported the cause. It began as a Facebook Post on the Miss Lilly Catering business page immediately after the first quake. The entire operation was run out of Larina’s backyard - the collection of donated goods, and organisation of delivery and logistics.

A large number of local businesses came forth to assist. Along with private donations from local families, New World Rangiora and PAK’nSAVE Rangiora donated large amounts of food and personal care supplies for the quake-affected communities. Christchurch Helicopters, Rangiora Aero Club and local construction companies provided the specialised vehicles to deliver the goods into isolated areas.

The Christmas following the Kaikoura Earthquake, the newly formed Trust carried out its first mission, along with Christchurch Helicopters, delivered Christmas presents and meals to more than 30 quake-affected families in Kaikoura.
